Nicky
Burkett is back!
Walthamstow's
wide boy is minding his business, chatting his
mates and wanting a quiet life. But what happens?
He is witness to a stabbing in the dole queue,
then a shooting in the street, then a whacking
with an iron bar outside the boozer. It all gets
very troublesome indeed.
The police
make Nicky an offer. They want to set him up as
a grass. The problem is that Lithuanians are taking
over the local crime scene. The geezer who got
stabbed was a Lithuanian. The geezers who did
the stabbing were Lithuanian . Nicky is caught
in the middle of them and the police reckon he
can bring them all in. For a fee of course.

Wider
Than Walthamstow is filled with the characters in Jeremy
Cameron's latest novel: wise-arse Nicky Burkett, beautiful
Noreen his bird, simple Jimmy Foley, local baron Rameez
Ahmed and Detective Sergeant TT Holdsworth.
Racy, hilarious
and violent by turn, full of swift moving action, Wider
Than Walthamstow is an unputdownable sequel to the earlier
successful novels in the series: Vinnie Got Blown Away,
It Was An Accident (filmed by Pathe with Chiwetel Ejiofor,
Thandie Newton, Max Beesley and James Bolam), Brown
Bread In Wengen and Hell On Hoe Street. The Nicky Burkett
series has been widely praised for its originality,
pace and wit. |

Hell
On Hoe Street - From the man whose street-speak
'sizzles with wit and invention', a new,
turbo-charged East London thriller; out
of the nick, in his own gaff, and with Walthamstow's
tastiest bird hanging off his arm, life
couldn't be sweeter for East London anti-hero
Nicky Burkett. Even the Old Bill are laying
off the hassle which, bearing in mind his
previous, is little short of a bleeding
miracle. But when the lovely Noreen tells
him her mate Alia's got this problem, and
needs to get it sorted right quick, she's
got him stitched up proper, and now that
bit of bother's got him all the way to Pakistan...
